Recyclus Secures TFS Licence for Sale of Black Mass to Europe

We are pleased to announce that Recyclus Group has secured a Transfrontier Shipment of Waste (TFS) licence, enabling the transportation of black mass to Europe under its offtake agreement with Glencore plc, announced on 17 December 2024.

Following this approval, shipments of black mass will commence in March as part of the agreement to supply Glencore’s European network and operations.

Produced at our industrial-scale lithium-ion battery recycling facility, black mass contains valuable metals such as lithium, manganese, nickel, and cobalt. These materials can be reprocessed and reintegrated into the battery supply chain, making black mass a highly valuable commodity and a key revenue driver for our recycling facility.

The TFS licence is a regulatory requirement for the international movement of waste, ensuring that its management, transportation, disposal, and recovery adhere to environmentally responsible practices.
