New Transfrontier Licence Secures Recyclus’ Battery Recycling Growth

Apr 2, 2026 | Company Announcements

We’re pleased to confirm that our new transfrontier shipment licence is now in place, enabling us to continue selling black mass to Glencore and maintain the seamless flow of materials through our recycling operations.

This marks an important milestone for Recyclus, ensuring continuity in a key part of our business model and reinforcing the strength of our commercial partnerships. The sale of black mass is central to how we generate value from processed Li-ion battery materials, and this licence not only safeguards current activity but also supports ongoing operational and commercial momentum as we scale.

Black mass is a critical intermediate product within the battery recycling value chain. Once refined, it enables the recovery of essential metals such as lithium, cobalt, and nickel—materials that are fundamental to the production of next-generation battery technologies. By reintroducing these metals back into the supply chain, black mass plays a vital role in reducing reliance on primary resource extraction and strengthening supply security.

These recovered materials ultimately feed back into the manufacturing of anodes and cathodes, supporting the transition to a more circular battery economy and contributing to a lower-carbon future.

With this licence now secured, we are well-positioned to continue scaling our operations, expanding our capabilities, and delivering sustainable, high-impact solutions that support the global energy transition.
