Recyclus Group Conducts Technical Due Diligence Visit to BatX Energies in India

Recyclus Group is continuing to evaluate global partners capable of supporting our mission to advance battery recycling and critical materials recovery. As part of this effort, our Head of Research, Dr Anton Zorin, recently travelled to India to undertake a technical due diligence assessment of BatX Energies, an organisation specialising in black mass treatment and the extraction of critical and strategic elements from end-of-life batteries and other electric vehicle components.
The purpose of the visit was to examine the effectiveness and requirements of BatX’s approach to black mass processing and the extraction of critical and strategic elements. With growing interest in innovative hydrometallurgical methods, it is essential for Recyclus to fully understand both the technical robustness and commercial feasibility of emerging technologies before entering into any collaboration.
During the visit, Dr Zorin met with BatX’s CEO, Utkarsh Singh, and CTO, Vikrant Singh, who provided full access to their R&D and production facilities located just outside Delhi. The tour included practical demonstrations of their processing methods, laboratory capabilities, and operational frameworks.
Following the visit, Dr Zorin commented: “The aim of the trip was to conduct technical due diligence on BatX’s process with a view to collaborating with them and bringing their technology to the UK. Their methods show potential in extracting critical and strategic elements from black mass. They would be a good technical partner to work with, have a solid understanding of their process, and I was happy with what I saw.”
Recyclus will continue to analyse the findings from this assessment as part of our ongoing review of strategic technologies and partnerships. As the industry develops rapidly, our priority remains securing best-in-class, scalable, and environmentally responsible solutions for the UK’s growing battery-recycling infrastructure.
